Concrete mix design is a systematic process used to determine suitable proportions of cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and water for concrete used in RCC work.

The objective of mix design is to ensure that the concrete used at site meets the required grade, workability and strength based on material properties and site conditions.

At Geotech, Structural and Materials Testing Labs, concrete mix design is carried out through laboratory testing and controlled trials.

Scope of Work

The mix design process includes:

Evaluation of cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and water

Preparation of trial mixes under controlled laboratory conditions

Casting and curing of test specimens

Strength verification through compression testing

Documentation of final mix proportions for site use

Applicable Indian Standards

Concrete mix design and testing are carried out in accordance with the following IS codes:

IS 10262 – Concrete Mix Proportioning

IS 456 – Plain and Reinforced Concrete

IS 516 – Method of Tests for Strength of Concrete

Exposure conditions and intended use are considered as per relevant standards.
